Mayo Clinic ranked one of best

By Kelley Luckstein

A Valley hospital is ranked one of the best in the country.  Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale is among the top 50 out of 5,000 nationwide. That means patients have a nearly 30 percent lower mortality rate as well as a lower chance of complications.

Healthgrades gives Mayo awards for clinical excellence, outstanding patient experience, patient safety and women's health.  The Scottsdale hospital has five star ratings in terms of treating pneumonia, back and neck surgery using spinal fusion, and heart attacks. Mayo is the only Arizona hospital to finish in the top five percent.
