Ponte Vedra Man Shares Gift of Life with Acquaintance Through Kidney Transplant

By Kelley Luckstein

Just how much would you do for someone you know a  little? Ken Kuiper, of Ponte Vedra, saw fellow salesperson, Tony Brady, at business meetings here and there…

A little digging and he found out Brady was at home on kidney dialysis…But Kuiper decided to step forward. "I said...what do I have to do be a donor?" he remembers…

Both men hope sharing their story will inspire others to consider kidney donation. On the First Coast, Mayo Clinic Jacksonville and Shands Gainesville perform kidney transplants. According to Mayo, when someone living gives a kidney, the results are significantly better than when a kidney comes from a deceased person.
