New hospital consent forms pioneered at St. Luke’s Hospital go nationwide

By

So you didn’t actually read that informed consent form you signed when you checked into the hospital?

Don’t feel bad. John Spertus understands. The St. Luke’s Hospital researcher has designed a new high-tech consent form for heart patients that’s not only a lot easier to read than the standard-issue document, but actually gives patients and doctors information they can use to weigh treatment options…

Now they’re about to be rolled out at major medical centers across the nation, from Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Medical Center to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut.
