Patients encouraged to keep records online

As doctors are being urged to forgo paper patient charts in favor of computerized medical records, patients, too, are increasingly being encouraged to track their own health electronically…

 

Independent systems such as the Mayo Clinic Health Manager--which is free and available online to anyone regardless of insurance status--give patients the power to keep track of their health concerns…

 

"You can access it no matter where you are," said Dr. Sidna Tulledge-Scheitel, a primary-care physician who helped develop the Mayo Clinic Health Manager.
