Local Doctors Respond to HPV Controversy

The controversy over vaccinations has come front and center for Minnesota presidential candidate Michele Bachmann. During an interview yesterday, Bachmann labeled the HPV vaccine, which help prevents cervical cancer, as dangerous. But local medical experts beg to differ… Mayo Clinic purposefully stayed away from the politics behind the statement, but current doctors say there's absolutely no proof the HPV vaccine is unsafe.  "In fact the vast majority of people that have the vaccine have no side affects at all. If there are side effects, they're usually very minor," said Dr. Abimbola Famuyide. "It's a safe and effective vaccination to prevent a serious problem."
