Out of the Darkness draws more than 500 affected by suicide

By

Every parking spot on the east side of Silver Lake was taken. That's because more than 560 people participated in the 2011 Rochester Out of the Darkness Walk on Saturday to raise more than $33,000 for suicide prevention. Most involved have been affected by suicide of a family member, friend, classmate, coworker or fellow church parishioner, or affected by the "ripple effect" of suicide, as Mayo Clinic psychiatrist Dr. Brian Palmer described it.
