Surrounded by construction workers in hard hats, U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said on Monday the passage of the president’s jobs bill would mean $4 billion for high-speed rail projects like a proposed line from Rochester to the Twin Cities. “There is an enormous amount of money, billions of dollars for roads and bridges and transit and high-speed rail that will be available to put thousands of people to work, thousands of men and women to work building America’s infrastructure,” LaHood said.
