A dietary supplement sold throughout the United States may pose a risk to consumers with milk allergies, federal officials said on Thursday in announcing a recall of the product. The maker of the supplement, NOW Foods, voluntarily recalled selected lots of its brewers yeast tablets because they contain a milk product not listed on the label, the Food and Drug Administration said…Brewers yeast is a popular source of thiamine, a vitamin that plays a role in numerous body functions, according to the Mayo Clinic, including nervous system and muscle functioning.
