Grief can trigger myocardial infarction, or heart attack, study finds

Can you die of a broken heart? Well, technically it's called acute myocardial infarction, but yes, grieving for a loved can elevate the risk of heart attack by 20 percent, according to a study published in the American Heart Association's journal CirculationAccording to the Mayo Clinic website, broken heart syndrome is "a temporary heart condition brought on by stressful situations, such as the death of a loved one."
