Mankato hospital paying more in charity care

 …The Minnesota Hospital Association said state not-for-profit hospitals provided $226 million in charity care and $498 million in costs not covered by Medicaid reimbursements.  Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato figures were reflective of that upward trend. Hospital officials said the Mankato facility wrote off $49.7 million in uncompensated Medicaid/Medicare costs in 2010 and $54.2 million last year.
