Although typically benign and self-limiting, postpartum cerebral vasoconstriction can quickly become severe and lead to death, according to findings from a retrospective case series… In reporting their experience, Alejandro A. Rabinstein, MD, and colleagues say they hope to "raise awareness" of the potentially “devastating” outcome in these women. It is possible that this disorder "is not only under-recognized but worse than previously believed," they say. Their report is published in the January issue of Archives of Neurology.
