Seems to me we should tip our hats to an unlikely example of faith shaping the city of Rochester and Mayo Clinic for more than a century. The Franciscan sisters, led by foundress Mother Alfred Moes, raised the money to build Saint Marys Hospital after the tornado that devastated the community in 1883, necessitating that the sisters — who were primarily teachers — serve as impromptu nurses.
