It looks like Mayo Clinic has another major remodeling project — with a $5.3 million price tag — in its sights for downtown Rochester. Mayo applied for a building permit last week to remodel the fourth and seventh floors of the Mayo Building at 200 First St. S.W. The work will benefit the ophthalmology department, which handles surgery and treatment of eye conditions. "The seventh floor and a portion of the fourth floor of the Mayo Building will be remodeled to provide greater efficiency and capacity for treating and monitoring patients," says Shawn Pastika, a project manager for Mayo Clinic's Facilities Department.
