New Mayo Clinic book features plan to ward off heart disease

Heart disease is the nation's No. 1 killer for both men and women. But almost 80 percent of heart disease is preventable, according to Dr. Martha Grogan, a Mayo Clinic cardiologist. And even small lifestyle changes can have a big impact…As soon you pick up the book, you can start making a difference in your heart health," said Grogan, medical editor-in-chief of the almost 300-page book, which features Dr. Regis Fernandes, a cardiologist at Mayo Clinic Health System, who sees patients in Eau Claire, Cameron and Bloomer.
