Mayo Clinic plans to transform health care

By

Mayo Clinic administrators say with confidence that the clinic itself will "redefine health care." CEO Dr. John Noseworthy, Chief Administrative Officer Shirley Weis and Chief Financial Officer Jeff Bolton said Mayo will spend $600 million in 2012 on capital projects, and $700 million per year systemwide for each of the following four years — a total of about $3.5 billion — on capital investments. But that doesn't necessarily mean more Gonda Buildings, proton centers and Northfield Cancer Centers.
