Former BSU Soccer Player Loses Her Life to Melanoma

Over the weekend, a former Bronco athlete lost her life to the deadliest form of skin cancer, melanoma. Her death comes just as a new Mayo Clinic study was released about a sharp increase in melanoma among women 18-39. "Some people would consider melanoma especially in young women almost an epidemic." Dr. Jerry Brewer, Mayo Clinic Dermatologist, said. The new Mayo Clinic study shows that since 1970, the rate of melanoma today is eight times higher in young women, four times higher in young men.
