More Than One Option Available for Laser Eye Surgery

And while LASIK surgery has typically been the most popular way to say goodbye to glasses since it was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in the 1990s, there's another, little-known option for those of us who might not be eligible for LASIK but who still want the same results. It's called photorefractive keratotomy, or PRK. Ophthalmologist Leo Maguire, M.D., has performed many LASIK and PRK eye surgeries for patients at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Here's a look at what he has to say about each procedure.
