Donald Hensrud is the medical editor-in-chief of The Mayo Clinic Diet and chair of preventive medicine at Mayo Clinic. From my experience with patients, I believe there are actually three issues here: self-image, a fit physique and health, all of which are different. There may be a correlation between a fit physique and good health, but they are not synonymous. There are various interrelationships among these three things.
