The medical community has come forward to speak out about the dangers of a sedentary lifestyle. Dr. James Levine, an obesity specialist and weight loss expert from Mayo Clinic has indicated that that there are extreme dangers in spending too much time sitting. His position has been that sitting for nine hours a day at the office is bad for your health whether you go home and watch television afterward or hit the gym. It is bad whether you are morbidly obese or marathon-runner thin. “Excessive sitting,” Dr. Levine says, “is a lethal activity.”
