Mayo Clinic scientists say they have verified a drug's effectiveness in blunting PTSD-related nightmares. A dozen studies about prazosin were reviewed. It was well-tolerated, can take effect within days to weeks, and some patients' nightmares returned when it was stopped, Mayo psychiatrist Dr. Simon Kung said.
