Minnesota Employers Pay for Obesity


Business owners may end up paying extra for those hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans expected to chow down on deep fried mini donuts and cheese curds at this year’s State Fair…Researchers at the Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic studied the effects of obesity among the clinic’s own employees and retirees over seven years, and found those who were obese on average had $1,850 more in health costs than normal weight workers and retirees.
