Don’t Rush To Decide Treatment For Prostate Cancer

They could use surgery to remove the prostate, radiation therapy to try to eliminate the cancer, and what's called "active surveillance" or regular prostate checks and exams. According to a Mayo Clinic survey of 643 urologists and radiation oncologists, most would direct patients into treatment in their field. Meaning that radiation oncologists would suggest radiation treatment, and urologists might be more prone to suggesting removal.
