Total cost of Mayo Clinic’s Destination Medical Center tax plan questioned

A Senate committee agreed to advance the Destination Medical Center bill without recommendation Tuesday, after questions were raised about the total cost of the public funding Mayo Clinic is seeking. This marks the first hiccup in Mayo Clinic’s quest to get state help to support its $6 billion Destination Medical Center proposal. …Despite the bill’s rough reception in committee, Sen. Dave Senjem, R-Rochester, said he remains confident…He added, “It’s simply incumbent upon all of us that are supporting this bill to be more clear in our explanation of the bill and get the message out.”
