The North Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure has awarded $142,000 in grants to area organizations…For more than 30 years, Komen has helped to fund major breakthroughs in breast cancer research and is the largest private funder of breast cancer research in the world. Komen currently funds 11 research projects in Florida, including one at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville.
