Mayo expands neurosurgery In Mankato

The new operating rooms at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Mankato are letting doctors do more complicated procedures closer to home. "On December 13th we embarked on the surgery here and it's KEYC Mankato TV Logobeen a procedure that I could have never guessed would be that good," said Gyles Randall, who recently had spinal surgery at the hospital. "Sometimes in church it was embarrassing because I either couldn't get up or I just was in pain and now, no problem. Wherever I am, I'm just back to normal," he said. Last year, the hospital opened eight new, state-of-the-art operating rooms. Dr. Meghan Murphy, a neurosurgeon for Mayo Clinic Health System said, "It makes operating safer, more fun, and better for patients."
