Mayo Clinic cesarean suite set to open in Austin

By Karl Oestreich

As part of the Mayo Clinic Health System’s OB consolidation, a few months ago the ‘Baby Place' in Albert Lea closed its doors. Now, the new center being constructed in Austin has completed phase one of its services. On Tuesday morning, the Family Birth Center will officially be ready to host expecting moms in its new cesarean section suite. "This is like Christmas morning for Dr. Goins. We have spent a lot of time over the last two years preparing for this moment and the additional moments to follow, that are going to allow our patients to have an even better experience,” said Dr. Heidi Gaston, I-90 OBGYN department chair.
